Candle Wax Removal
There are several methods to remove the wax after the candle is spent.
First method:
1. Turn your oven on the lowest heat setting. For my oven it is 170 degrees. Clean out as much of the wax as you can with a spoon. Put the candle in a cake pan or other similar pan right side up. (alternatively, you can line the pan with aluminum foil and turn the candle upside down).
2. Set your timer for 10 minutes. Don't walk away from the oven!
3. Take the pan out with oven mitts (also use mitts when picking up vessel, it will be warm) and pour melted wax into a can or other such container that won't melt.
4. Wipe out the vessel with a paper towel.
5. Run it through the dishwasher, and voila! You have a clean vessel to repurpose.
Second method:
1. Clean out as much wax as possible with a spoon or butter knife.
2. Boil some water. Pour some into the candle vessel.
3. As the water cools, the wax will float to the top.
4. Discard the wax and water (don't pour down the drain unless you want a visit from the plumber!).
5. Wipe down and run through the dishwasher.
